Located right next to Ashfield station in Sydney’s Inner West, we offer a genuinely personalised approach to family dentistry, treating patients from routine check-ups through to more involved restorative and cosmetic care. Our Story
Ashfield Family Dental was founded by Dr Edwin Kwok, who served the local community for many years before retiring in 2013 to pursue a new path as a pastor. Dr Johnson Tang took over the practice from there, continuing its focus on gentle, personalised care while bringing his own experience and approach to patient treatment.
Since then, the practice has grown into a genuine family clinic, supporting generations of patients across Ashfield and the surrounding Inner West, including Summer Hill, Croydon, Haberfield, Ashbury and Croydon Park. Dr Janette Ho has since joined the team, bringing her own focus on preventive and restorative care.
Our Support Team
Good dental care relies on more than the dentists alone, and much of our support team has been with the practice for years.
Carol Luo
Carol has worked alongside Dr Tang since 2009 and joined Ashfield Family Dental in 2015. As an experienced dental assistant, she plays a key role in helping our dentists deliver quality care, and her warmth helps put anxious patients at ease.
Faye Mao
Faye has also worked with Dr Tang since 2009, joining Ashfield Family Dental in 2013 when he took over the practice. Fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, she supports patients both chairside and at reception, and is an active member of the local Chinese Christian community.
Lita Reichstein
Lita has been part of the practice since Dr Kwok first opened its doors over 20 years ago. Originally from the Philippines, she remains a familiar and valued presence for long-time patients, and is usually in on Saturdays.
